Why projects?

If there was one damn thing I could destroy forever, it would be the requirement in Indian high schools to submit idiotic projects that include, but are not limited to, scrapbooks and portfolios. They do not contribute a bit to the development of one's mind. All they do is force students into copying tens of paragraphs from the internet for mere marks. Marks should be awarded for progress, which can be better assessed through assignments that require actual research and consciousness.
