Aftersun (2022).

09:27pm. The film is aesthetically pleasing, colourful and heartbreaking, all at the same time. The film deserves a long review -- which I will post if I get time though I have been very busy lately. An important thing I learnt from the film is that it is difficult to properly raise kids in India. A simple example backing my opinion can be the fact that dancing with your daughter or son in public can be awkward in India, but not in the western countries. Moreover, our country has a huge population of unemployed youth which causes parents to push their children into studying hard (and only studying) since a very early age -- sometimes as young as seven or ten. The immense competition snatches away any time from kids for fun. I think this all gets reflected in the Reddit comments making fun of an IIT-JEE topper.
